We’re proud to announce the HI Community Center has formed a local partnership with MilanoKumbo Sports Academy to support community sports and youth programs in Kumbo. The Sports Academy is a leader in community sports programs in the whole region, offering training to over 300 children in soccer, basketball, and running. Their running program is one of the best in the entire nation. Not only have participants won races internationally, they include the current Cameroonian 10,000 meter champion and winners of the prestigious Mt. Cameroon race, a rugged cross-country race up Africa’s 2nd highest mountain!

Several runners from the Academy are pictured here, with president of the Sports Academy, Roland Mbenkum (center, wearing a red shirt), after winning a race in Nigeria.
